However, we specialize in live sporting event drone work including national and international rowing regattas, NCAA football, and bicycle racing. For many sporting events, drones offer a perspective that can’t be achieved any other way.
Since 2017, LDF drones have flown over 4,000 air miles in support of championship regatta events. This includes over 400 hours of accumulated flight time for nearly 40 National and international championship level events. Our pilots excel in the exciting and fast paced world of live race coverage.
NCAA Football
LDF has been very excited to work with The Ohio State University for the 2025-26 football season to provide cameras and drones for their stadium broadcast at the Ohio Stadium. Live video feeds from the drone inside a temporary flight restricted (TFR) airspace requires some challenging coordination of stakeholders, agency approvals and network TV drones. Go Buckeyes!!!
Rowing
Rowing is LDF’s bread and butter, flying dozens of national and international championship rowing regatta events across the US. Long distance, fast moving events over open water bring unique challenges for drone operations.
